Main application:

     The bimetal element is the simplest and most often encountered sensor. The main application of bi-metal thermal strip for silicone oil fan clutch lies in its sensitivity of temperature change. Bi-metal strip is the core part of silicone oil fan clutch. It works as a switch that regulated by temperature in controlling the operation of fan clutch. Bi-metal material is also widely used in controlling devices of automobiles.

Principle of operation:  

    Thermostatic bimetal consists of two or more metallic layers that bonded together, and they have different thermal expansion. When heated up, it bends in a pre-designed manner and can be used as a switch to control the fan clutch by regulating the moving of silicone oil.

    Bi-metal can also be manufactured as disc, coil or spiral material with very small tolerances.
